Lane Walkup is a sculptor living and working in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, following extended periods in New York City and Portland, Oregon. Her practice centers on forging and welding steel into sculptural compositions, often incorporating natural and reclaimed materials. Through an intuitive, process-driven approach, her work explores material tension, symbolism, and the emotional residue of objects shaped by hand and time.
